History of Grilling

MAN + MEAT + FIRE = GRILLING

That's it. That's the history of grilling in one short equation. Seriously, if you'd like to read more about the L-O-N-G history of grilling and the more recent history of barbequing, check out this article on the Food Network.

Why Infrared?

Whereas, typical charcoal or propane grilling is dependent upon heated air to cook the food, INFRARED GRILLING uses the electromagnetic heating of infrared waves to quickly heat and cook food. Either propane or natural gas is used to superheat a ceramic plate. The ceramic then gives off infrared heat to cook the food. Cooking by INRARED offeres the following benefits over traditional grilling:

  • high heat option (as high as 700 degrees)
  • heat is uniformly distributed
  • sear items quickly
  • reduction in pre-heat time
  • less drying of the food — seems juicier
  • instant ignition
  • better heat control
